FAQ

 

Does your yarn bleed?

Queen’s Yarn Boutique yarn is hand dyed with professional acid dyes, but it may bleed a little. While I rinse the yarn after it is dyed, it is possible for some excess dye to remain. If excess dye remains, just rinse your project separately with cold water until the water runs clear.

Can I wash my finished project(s) in the washing machine?

Although superwash wool can be machine washed, I recommend hand washing your project in cold water and laying it flat to air dry for best results.

Why does my yarn look different than the shop listing picture?

Your yarn may look different than the listing picture. Each hand dyed skein is unique and skeins of the same colorway are always slightly different. Unless you receive the same skein that was photographed in the picture, your yarn will have subtle color variations. I always recommend alternating the yarn every few rows between the two skeins. Please note that different computers and mobile devices may display colors differently.

Do you have smokers in your home?

No. My yarn is hand dyed and stored in a smoke free home.

How do I contact you?

Email is the best form of contact. Please do not message me about orders or products via Ravelry, Pinterest, or any social media sites. I only reply to emails. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions by using the contact form on the website!

How do I find out about shop updates?

Shop update dates and times will be posted on this website homepage. Shop updates will also be posted on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

Can you combine multiple orders to save me the extra shipping costs?

Np. The shipping costs for multiple orders cannot be combine. Also, the additional shipping costs for multiple orders cannot be refunded.

My yarn became tangled while I was winding/caking/balling it up! Can I get a replacement skein?

Queen’s Yarn Boutique yarn is handled with care. I do not offer replacements or refunds for any snags or tangles that may occur in the winding, caking or balling process.

Do you take wholesale orders from retail yarn shops?

Yes. Please send me a message using the contact page.

Do you do trunk shows?

No.

Does my package come with tracking and insurance?

First Class Mail comes with tracking within the United States. However, First Class Mail does not come with insurance. Priority mail comes with $50 shipping insurance. The purchaser is responsible for filing claims with United States Postal Service (USPS) for lost packages.

Why isn’t the tracking information that I received in my shipping notification not available?

When you receive a shipment notification, it just means that your item has been packaged and stamped with postage. After it has been collected by the post office, please allow 1-2 days for tracking information to appear on the USPS website. International orders cannot be tracked beyond the United States.

Can you wind my skein(s) for me?

Yes, except for mini skeins. If you would like your yarn wound into a cake before it is shipped, just let me know in the “Special instructions for seller” section before you checkout. Unfortunately, I am not winding mini skeins into cakes.

Do you ship internationally? 

Yes. All international packages are shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS)The buyer is responsible for shipping costs and additional fees and taxes.

Can I return my order? 

Yes, you may return items within 7 days of receiving them, all items returned must be in their original packaging and undamaged. Returns are refunded once I receive the product. You are responsible for return shipping expenses, in less the mistake was mine. Incorrect items and/or missing items from your order will be shipped/exchanged at no extra cost. Returns will not be accepted past the 7 day mark. Yarn that has been cut, caked or wound into a ball cannot be returned. On-sale, clearance or de-stash yarn cannot be returned. No exchanges.

When will my order ship? 

Ready-to-ship items will ship within 1-3 business days (Monday to Friday). All items are shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS). Please make sure that your mailing address is correct before submitting your order. If your shipment is returned to me due to an incorrect address that you provided, you are responsible for the re-shipping costs. If I made the mistake, I will cover the cost. 

How long will it take for me to receive my items? 

For domestic purchases, it takes approximately 7-10 business days. For international packages please allow 4-6 weeks. If your mail is delayed, contact USPS (usps.com) or your local post office.

Do you charge a sales tax?

North Carolina residents will have a 6.75% sales tax added to their order during checkout.

Who is responsible for International Custom fees?

Customers ordering from outside of the United States are responsible for the payment of any international customs fees and/charges that may apply. Please review your post office and customs policies. Packages may be opened by custom inspectors. UK customers, please be aware that orders with a declaration worth over £15 delivery may be subject to a 20% VAT tax + additional Royal Mail handling fee. 

What are "Oopsies"?

Oopsies are one of a kind colorways that are awesome but didn't come out as planned. These colorways may not be repeated.

Are face masks sold by Queen's Yarn Boutique medical grade?

Face masks are NOT ASTM compliant, N95, medical or surgical grade. Queen’s Yarn Boutique does not make any claims that these masks will resist the Covid-19/Coronavirus or any other virus, illness or bacterial infection. It is recommended that you consult your healthcare professional prior to purchasing these masks.

What is the return/refund policy for face masks?

No refunds or returns on face masks due to health and safety.
